In this fun and rewarding event, we’ll come together to plant potatoes—a staple crop that not only nourishes communities but also represents growth, sustainability, and teamwork. Participants will learn the basics of potato planting, from preparing the soil and spacing the seed potatoes to understanding the care needed for a bountiful harvest. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or trying it out for the first time, this project is a great way to connect with nature and contribute to St Arbor's food initiative. it is desire to be able to harvest no less than 1,000 pounds of potatoes this year. The potatoes we plant will support [Little Elm Area Food Bank and their affiliates, Little Elm Lovepacs, Heart of the City, Little Elm ISD and our own St Arbor tiny food pantry], ensuring fresh, nutritious food reaches those who need it most. So grab your gloves, bring your enthusiasm, and let’s dig in to make a lasting impact! |

D-Day's Deceptions & Innovations - Overview of the American & German Secrecy & Allied Modifications
May 06, 2025 12:00 PM
Dwayne is from Arlington, Texas, and started Southern Flair Photography over 47 years ago as a one-man operation. Since then, he has built the business into one of the premier portrait professional photography studios in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Dwayne's passion for this part of American history can be traced back to his Dad, who at the age of 18, joined the Army Air Force in 1942 and received his pilot's license less than a year later. He became a C-47 pilot, and
trained many of the glider pilots who landed in Normandy on D-Day. Because of his desire to keep the memory alive of the great sacrifices made by the men and women of the Allied Military on D-Day, Dwayne has prepared and presented programs on various aspects of D-Day, the largest military amphibious invasion in history. Dwayne has presented well over 240 programs on D-Day over the past five years to Rotary Clubs, Optimist, Kiwanis, and Lions Clubs, as well as, church groups and senior centers. Dwayne also conducts week-long tours of the D-Day invasion area in Normandy, France each Summer for small groups of 10-12. To date, he has hosted eight Adventures, and has three groups scheduled for this Summer and four for September of 2024. He will be spending a month this year in Normandy starting in mid- July. Dwayne is a Charter Member and Past President of the Arlington (TX) Sunrise Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow Sustaining Member and Major Donor. He currently serves on the Board of Directors with the Arlington (TX) Convention and Visitors Bureau.
